JOB SUMMARY
A Regional Admissions Counselor at Texas Woman’s University is responsible for attracting and engaging prospective students within an assigned region. This position will live in the designated region and contribute to the enrollment objectives of the University. Other recruitment areas or event attendance may be assigned at the Director’s discretion to meet enrollment goals. This individual will serve as the primary contact for local high school counselors and community college counselors and coordinate student recruiting efforts with local TWU alumni chapters, various organizations, and other regional partners. A Regional Admissions Counselor represents Texas Woman’s University accurately and effectively to all its various constituents, while also facilitating the implementation of policies, practices and programs, in an effort to achieve enrollment goals. Travel to the Denton campus and occasionally other areas of Texas may be required for events, supervisory meetings, staff training, college fairs, and other special circumstances when additional support is needed. Work is performed in a remote environment under limited supervision, and performance is based on the completion of assignments and the results obtained. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Reports to: Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions & Recruitment, Associate Director of Undergraduate Admissions & Recruitment
Supervises: No supervisory duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - May include, but not limited to the following:
60% of Time-Recruitment & Travel:
Counsel and advise prospective students, families, and the public as it relates to university policies and procedures, general admissions information, pre-college planning, academic and career opportunities, etc.
Identify and recruit freshmen, transfer, and adult students to undergraduate programs at TWU.
Collaborate with TWU-Academic Program recruiters and contacts as it relates to recruitment initiatives for their programs of study.
Develop and maintain relationships with high schools, community colleges, alumni, and other community programs which impact recruitment.
Coordinate visits and presentations with high schools and community colleges within the assigned region.
Represent the university at all college fairs and recruitment events assigned throughout the year.
Maintain a flexible schedule in order to participate in evening and Saturday event programs at peak times throughout the fall and spring.
Organize special off-campus recruitment activities in assigned geographical area.
Collaborate with department leadership to develop and implement professional/enrollment goals for territory.
30% of Time-Administrative & Student Contact:
Corresponds and follows up with high school and community college students via phone, text, email, and mail, utilizing multiple platforms, including Salesforce.
Maintain travel expenditures (rental vehicles, lodging, and meals) in Concur Solutions (Travel Management Software) and complete follow-up expense reports.
Compiles regular reports showing regional recruitment events, activities, and application and enrollment numbers.
Attend and participate in regional team meetings.
10% of Time-Other:
Collaborate with supervisors, colleagues, and university partners regarding marketing, communication, recruitment events, and initiatives.
Partners with campuses and colleagues across the Texas Woman’s University system in the support of recruitment and enrollment initiatives.
Attend departmental meetings and on-campus activities
