Senior Manager Strategy Planning & Business Development

About the role
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
The Senior Manager, Strategy Planning & Business Development role will help drive the holistic NAM market strategy development and execution through market intelligence, data synthesis, decision-support analysis, and planning processes.
Key Responsibilities:
NAM Market Strategic Planning process
- Support the Global Strategy and NAM Strategic Business Planning (SBP) process for the future 2–5-year period (e.g., market diagnosis, strategy formulation, document development, local alignment, global submissions, communication packages, etc.)
- Deliver the NAM Game Plan in cooperation with BD Strategy, BD Transformation PMO, and cross-functional partners. Support project teams, acceleration plans, gap plans, etc.
- Support other regular and ad-hoc strategic planning activities (e.g., market visits, business reviews, strategy workshops, individual briefings)
Data Analysis and Decision Support
- Develop financial and quantitative models relevant to strategy planning (e.g., business simulation, revenue projection, market share development, financial statement analysis)
- Synthesize data and prepare analysis to support senior management decision-making on priority topics (typically working cross-functionally)
Business Development Projects
- Lead and participate in select research / strategy projects, to ensure quality outcomes and potential application to new, incremental, or alternative business opportunities.
- Participate in major strategic and cross-functional projects (as required)
- Work with external / consulting agencies on specific topical projects in alignment with NAM market strategy (if applicable)
Strategic Document and Communications Development
- Develop strategic presentations and business planning documents at market level.
- Assist in the development of executive level presentations and reporting.
Market Intelligence
- Develop and manage data sources and central data repository of market, industry, competitor, and retailer intelligence – both qualitative and quantitative
- Create and distribute regular reports to senior management
- Identify key market developments with insights and ensure implications are considered in planning and decision-making for strategic business planning.
- Synthesize insights and provide recommendations for strategic business planning and initiatives to advance market growth.

- Big-picture thinking: Develop market and business-level strategy with high degree of strategic and conceptual thinking. Synthesize complex business challenges and combine with data intelligence to apply to strategy planning.
- Solid business acumen and critical-thinking: Solve problems using both conventional judgment and ad-hoc analysis to formulate structured solutions.
- Advanced analytical skills: Apply both quantitative (e.g., financial modelling, data analysis) and qualitative (e.g., market trends, competitor analysis) analysis towards problem-solving.
- Strong communication skills: Demonstrated executive-level presentation and written communication skills.
- Expert MS Excel user: Advanced Excel user experienced in complex financial modelling (i.e., P&L simulations, bottoms-up revenue forecasting, business casing).
- Expert MS PowerPoint user: Advanced PowerPoint & Think Cell user with strong visual and verbal story telling.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Able to build trust quickly and act as an influencer with peers and senior leaders across the organization.
- Entrepreneurial: Proven self-starter with the ability to think and act strategically. Proactively defines goals and attacks them with creativity.
- Willingness to learn: Drive to learn about all aspects of the business and develop general management competency.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of general business experience, ideally in top-tier consulting firm, investment banking, corporate strategy, or related fields
- MBA or advanced degree in relevant field (preferred)
- Multi-cultural & multi-national work experience
- Experience with a global apparel / consumer goods brand or r
