The Royal Caribbean Group’s Celebrity Cruises brand has an exciting career opportunity for a full time Director, Destination Experiences on the Hotel Operations Team reporting to the VP, Onboard Revenue and Product Experience.
This position will work on-site in Miami, Florida
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- The Director, Destination Experiences – Product Operations & Partnerships is responsible for the delivery & execution of the brand’s product strategy and guest experience aspirations of the revenue-generating Destination Experiences by Celebrity program.
- This Director leads the successful delivery of over 4,000 destination experiences across specific regions of the world and strategic ports of calls. Product Operations is taking a destination experience concept and making it a reality, while maintaining high levels of quality in execution and attention to detail. This position oversees individual experiences, a collection of experiences and/or partnerships.
- Product Operations oversees a team that is monitoring on a constant basis guest feedback, revenue, penetration, spend, risks, incidents, compliance as well as how effective the experiences are communicating, marketed, and sold pre and onboard the fleet. Additionally, this position oversees the shipboard operations and delivery of the experiences at over 300 ports of call annually. This position is all encompassing responsible for flawless delivery of the destination experiences ashore with the goal to meet and exceed the brand’s revenue and guest satisfaction goals.
- Product Partnerships involves the management, development and negotiations with 300 partners worldwide that deliver the destination experiences to the Celebrity customer.
- This Director leads a high-performing team that is responsible for one of the top producing revenues generating business for the brand. Reporting to the Vice President of Onboard Revenue in Hotel Operations for Celebrity Cruises.
- The Director leads a large team shoreside of 10 to 15 employees on location and remote globally with approximately 4 to 5 direct reports. This position is also responsible for the shipboard operations which is 100 – 150 team members across the Celebrity Cruises fleet.
- The ability of this Director to influence, drive decision and deliver results through effective communication skills, process expertise and project management will have a considerable impact on the success of the brand’s long-term destination experience revenue-generating business.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or equivalent.
- 8 or more years in a position or project that took ideas and concepts and delivered them as a final product to a customer or stakeholder.
- 8 years or more of experience in cruise or travel industry, tour operator related business, or experience in destination product development or operations.
- Ability to remain flexible and calm in high-pressure situations and adjust as multiple moving parts consistently change.
- A confident, professional, and persuasive communication style with senior leaders and team members.
- A passion for creative problem-solving and strategic thinking.
- Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge and experience with project planning, execution, go-to-market activities, and managing cross functional, global project teams.
- Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles.
- Proven track record of success in fast-paced environment with demanding timelines.
- Experience in leading high-performing operational team.
- Experience in overseeing complex project execution and project management teams.
- Ability to travel up to 45-50% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher would-be a plus.
- Strong geographical knowledge and extensive travel experience a plus.
