About the role
Summary of Position
- The position of Events Associate entails supporting the Events Coordinator in effectively communicating event specifics to the multi-campus bookstore team. Responsibilities include supervising conference stores and product tables during significant conferences and events and managing the sales particulars of guest speaker products for weekend services. Additionally, the role involves cultivating and engaging with a robust volunteer base. The ideal candidate should possess self-motivation, a comprehensive understanding of software systems and processes, and exceptional customer service skills. Strong interpersonal abilities are essential for collaborating with Gateway Bookstore managers, Gateway staff, and other ministries within Gateway. Furthermore, this role encompasses helping to oversee large-scale operations/projects and maintaining detailed knowledge of all internal functions.
Principle Responsibilities
- Assist the Events Coordinator in communicating event details to the multi-campus bookstore team.
- Help set up and supervise conference stores and product tables at major conferences and events.
- Coordinate sales details of guest speaker products for weekend services.
- Communicate with speakers and ministries to obtain information regarding relevant resources for speaking events and book signings.
- Recruit and lead volunteer teams for events and ongoing bookstore support.
- Conduct ongoing volunteer emails and phone calls.
- Organize monthly volunteer team lunches and dinners.
- Schedule volunteers for multiple events throughout the year.
- Create conference signage and other graphic signage for non-conference events.
- Possess self-motivation and a solid understanding of graphic design (using programs such as Canva), software systems, and processes.
- Provide strong customer service by helping to facilitate book signings and product tables for guests and in-house authors during weekend services or at special events.
- Collaborate effectively with Gateway Bookstore managers, Gateway staff, and other Gateway ministries.
- Help to oversee large operations/projects with detailed knowledge of internal aspects.
