Job Summary

The Manager of Outpatient Surgical Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, clinical services, and administrative functions of outpatient care programs. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting departmental growth. The Manager collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to achieve operational excellence, enhance patient satisfaction, and foster a positive work environment.

Essential Functions

  • Supervises daily operations of outpatient services, including staffing, workflow, and resource allocation to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
  • Develops and implements policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational goals.
  • Monitors departmental performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing quality initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Manages departmental budgets, monitors expenses, and identifies cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Supports the recruitment, onboarding, training, and professional development of outpatient services staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and teamwork.
  • Collaborates with physicians, clinicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and improve interdisciplinary communication.
  • Addresses patient care concerns, complaints, and incidents promptly, implementing corrective actions and promoting a culture of safety and accountability.
  • Participates in strategic planning and operational decision-making to support the growth and development of outpatient services.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required
  • 3-5 years of experience in outpatient services, ambulatory care, or a related healthcare setting required
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience required

  • Strong knowledge of outpatient care operations, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement principles.
  • Leadership and team-building skills to inspire and manage a diverse workforce.
  • Financial acumen to manage budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess performance data and implement improvements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and address patient concerns.
  • Proficiency in healthcare technology, including electronic health records and practice management systems.

Licenses and Certifications

  • RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure preferred
