About the role

Role Purpose

Serve as the HR Business Partner for assigned business units/functions accountable for the delivery of HR programs to support the achievement of business plans and objectives. Provide guidance and support to management and participate in the development of relevant business unit plans and programs, particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. Lead the execution of ER strategies to ensure Conduct the ER framework is brought to life.  Act as a subject matter expert in ER issues including driving positive work environment, capability building for stakeholders and conducting investigations that are consistent with company policies and procedures, and provide support for filing required compliance reports with federal, state and local agencies. Serve as the HR manager for assigned business units/functions accountable for the delivery of HR programs to support the achievement of business plans and objectives. Provide guidance and support to management and participate in the development of business unit plans and programs, particularly from the perspective of the impact on people. May assist in the improvement/ development of HR programs, policies, and practices and lead/review the work of less experienced HR team members.

Your day to day

  • Develop key relationships with respective management in assigned functions to understand their business issues and provide support in the areas of linking business unit/operation strategies; coaching business units through organization, regulator, and business issues; and coaching managers to create and maintain a work environment with high morale and productivity.  
  • Explain and/or interpret company and governmental policies and procedures.  
  • Manage and administer a broad range of tasks including resolving complaints, counseling managers and employees on the interpretation of policies and procedures. 
  • Conduct effective internal investigations into alleged or suspected misconduct, such as harassment, discrimination, and other policy or code of conduct violations for corporate and hotel population. 
  • Design, and communicate key metrics on ER activities. 
  • Conduct trend and gap analyses of internal, external, and regulatory employment data and design and deliver of solutions to address those needs. 
  • Assist in the filing of annual EEOC reports, VETS 4212, and preparation of data for completion of annual AAP reports as necessary.  
  • Manage employee relations technology solutions to include reporting tools, internal web-based team spaces, case management applications.
  •  Proactively provide solutions to address business needs. 
  • Investigate and resolve employee relations issues including EEOC charges, sexual harassment charges, etc. In partnership with the business and legal counsel, determine employee disciplinary actions up to and including termination decisions. Provide advice and/or seek advice from internal/external sources, as appropriate, on local employment issues/laws to ensure compliance and favorable employee relations activities. 
  • Collaborate with other HR managers and HR senior management on major HR initiatives, policies and/or issues of significance to the business; serve as an advocate for the business to provide input and feedback on major HR initiatives and consultation on business issues/requirements to ensure effectiveness of initiatives. 

What we need from you

  • Knowledge of applicable federal laws affecting human resource policy (Title VII, ADA, FLSA, FMLA, EEOC and OFCCP.) 
  • Requires broad, generalized HR knowledge and involvement in all specialized areas within HR 
  • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written to address all levels within the organization and ability to gain consensus 
  • Strong customer-focus orientation 
  • Related HR certifications helpful (as applies) 
  • Legal online research 
  • Strong Excel skills, and data analysis
  • Strong PowerPoint skills 
  • Ability to deliver presentation and training to management and colleagues 
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently on a wide range of tasks to meet deadlines 

No travel required for this position

Location - Our hybrid work structure is an expectation of three (3) days - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday - in the ATLANTA office.  This expectation may be adjusted to evolve with the changing needs of the business.

The salary range for this role is $58,844 to $120,000.  This role is also eligible for bonus pay.  We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K and other benefits to employees.
