Working on the Finance Department

We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support Tangelo’s financial operations with precision, ownership, and care. In this role, you’ll lead key accounting functions including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), and financial statement preparation, ensuring our records are accurate, timely, and audit-ready.

A quick heads up: This is a part-time (minimum 20 hours/week, maximum 35 hours/week), contract role. There’s potential for it to convert into a longer-term opportunity. During the contract period, benefits won’t be available. We’re looking for someone who’s ready to jump in now and is excited about the possibility of growing with the team if the fit is right.

What You’ll Get to Do

• Report to the CFO.

• Oversee and manage Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, including member invoicing, payment tracking, and aging analysis.

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP), including processing vendor invoices, coding expenses, managing approval workflows, and preparing payment runs.

• Prepare and deliver timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements (monthly, quarterly, annual).

• Reconcile general ledger accounts, including bank and balance sheet reconciliations.

• Support month-end and year-end close processes.

• Partner with the CFO, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Revenue Cycle Management teams on budgeting, forecasting, revenue reporting, and cash flow tracking.

• Maintain accurate documentation and support internal controls, audit readiness, and compliance.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

• 7+ years of Accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Expertise in QuickBooks Online, and strong proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets.

• Deep understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and full-cycle accounting.

• Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and consistently meet deadlines.

• Clear communicator with strong organization and follow-through.

• Experience with grant funding, funder reporting, or Medicaid billing is a plus.

The compensation range listed represents the total cash value, which includes a combination of base salary and an annual bonus or variable compensation. This range does not account for equity, which is included in the overall compensation package.

Compensation estimates are based on market data about the role and level, while individual compensation offers will be determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
