We are looking for: 
 

• As the On-Premise Virtulization Expert you will play a pivotal role in establishing the new on premise environment for Syensqo in closely linked with cloud strategy. This is a unique opportunity to architect and shape the future of our On premise infrastructure.

 
We count on you for:
 

• Manages and maintains the organisation’s virtualization infrastructure, ensuring efficient and reliable operation
• This includes deploying, configuring and troubleshooting virtual servers and machines, optimizing performance and providing ongoing support for virtual environments
• Virtualization infrastructure management that includes the design and implementation of virtualization platforms, such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or Citrix
• Oversee virtual machines setup, configuration and lifecycle management by third party providers
• Monitor the performance and capacity of virtualized systems, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and bottlenecks are addressed
• Collaborate with IT Product managers, service owners and application owners to diagnose and resolve hardware, network and storage issues impacting the virtual environment, with the third party providers
• Ensuring end to end resolution to incidents, track issues and manage escalations as needed to ensure minimum disruption
• Overseeing that regular health checks are performed by third party providers, diagnostics and performance tuning of virtual environments to ensure optimal performance
• Ensure that virtual environments comply with the organization’s security and regulatory standards
• Ensure that implementation and maintenance of security measures, including access controls to protect virtual machines and hypervisors
• Design and implement backup and recovery strategies for virtual machines ensuring business continuity
• Document virtualization architecture and configurations, procedures and troubleshooting guides
• Generate regular reports on system health, performance and resource utilization for management review
• Stay updated on new features, technologies and industry trends in virtualization and share insights with the team

 
Education and experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications would be a plus.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in a leadership and technical role in virtualization administration or infrastructure management
• Proficiency with virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V or Citrix
• Familiarity with backup, recovery and disaster recovery solutions (eg Veeam) and storage systems
• Strong understanding of networking, storage and server hardware concepts as they relate to virtualization
• Experience with scripting and automation tools (eg: PowerShell, VMware PowerCLI)
• Proven track record of successfully designing and implementing On premise and Cloud strategies for large user bases
• Cybersecurity Expertise:
  • Understanding of cybersecurity principles, best practices, and frameworks.
  • Knowledge of encryption, identity management, access controls, and other security measures within cloud environments.
• Experience in managing complex technology migrations and lifecycle management.
