ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • The role involves process capability, cost reduction, and continuous improvement of project implementation within a designated manufacturing unit.

  • It requires providing specific engineering work related to the field of expertise, with broad overlap between engineering subject areas expected.

  • Supporting capacity optimization and growth, as well as defining budgeted rates and process documentation, are part of the responsibilities.

  • Ensuring compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures, standard processes, and all local, state, federal, and BD safety guidelines, policies, and procedures is essential.

  • Regular and punctual attendance is a crucial job function.

  • The ability to read, write, and converse in English is required.

  • Willingness and ability to uphold BD Values are expected.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Implement and sustain BD Excellence work process for the manufacturing unit.

  • Identifies critical equipment setting and creation of standards.

  • Creates technical knowledge for the manufacturing unit and transfers the knowledge to the operator and technical associates.

  • Coach associates on continuous improvement methodologies within the manufacturing unit.

  • Understands top losses within the manufacturing unit and develops and implements plans to eliminate losses and drive OEE performance.

  • Responsible for manufacturing unit change control including validation activities, root cause analysis of prioritized OEE losses, and quality events and deviations.

  • Facilitate quality non-conformances investigations and corrective actions for respective lines or processes.

  • Develop and maintain machine and process work instructions and manufacturing procedures.

  • Other duties as required to support the needs of the business.

RESULTS

  • Ensures safety of all associates and quality of product.

  • Ensures new manufacturing processes and process improvements meet Manufacturing Unit objectives.

  • Ensures equipment is running efficiently and effectively.

  • Analyzes current state of equipment efficiency to drive OEE improvement and sustainability.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education/ Experience:
This position has the following minimum educational requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree is required (Engineering, Mechanical Engineering preferred).

  • At least 3 years of manufacturing experience (required).

  • 2 years of Medical manufacturing experience (preferred).

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities (KSA’s): (Not Required/Will Train, Basic, Proficient, Advanced)
