Position Overview

As a Contracts Manager within the Project Controls team, you will play a key role in supporting the successful delivery of Vantage’s North American data center portfolio by overseeing contract administration, change management, and compliance processes across multiple construction projects. Working closely with the Senior Manager of Project Controls, you will ensure all contractual obligations are met, changes are properly evaluated and documented, and commercial risks are proactively identified and mitigated.
This role bridges the gap between project execution and commercial strategy, enabling data-driven decisions that align with budget, schedule, and scope objectives. You will collaborate cross-functionally with construction teams, legal, finance, and external partners to uphold contract integrity and ensure proper documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Essential Job Functions
Contract Administration
· Manage and maintain contract documentation throughout project lifecycle (preconstruction through closeout).
· Review and interpret construction and consultant contracts to ensure compliance with internal standards and legal requirements.
· Work with legal and project stakeholders to draft, modify, and finalize contract amendments and change orders.
· Ensure all deliverables and obligations outlined in agreements are tracked and met.
Change Management
· Lead the administration of the change management workflow within the project controls function.
· Support project teams in evaluating, validating, and processing change events, pricing impacts, and schedule delays.
· Partner with finance and scheduling teams to ensure change approvals are reflected in budget forecasts, reports, and schedules.
· Monitor and report on potential commercial risks associated with scope changes or schedule impacts.
Commercial Risk & Compliance
· Identify, document, and escalate contractual risks related to budget overruns, schedule delays, or performance issues.
· Ensure consistency in contractual practices across all regional and site-level projects.
· Support claim preparation and resolution of disputes with vendors and contractors.
Collaboration & Reporting
· Support the monthly forecasting and financial reporting process by contributing contractual insights to budget variances and commitments.
· Assist in creating real-time dashboards and status reports with a focus on contract exposure, pending changes, and risk logs.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders including procurement, legal, construction, and finance teams.
· Maintain strong working relationships with external vendors and design-build contractors to ensure alignment on contractual expectations.
Qualifications
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related field required.
· JD or legal coursework preferred but not required.
Experience:
· 7–10+ years of experience in contracts management or construction project controls in large-scale capital projects.
· Familiarity with data centers, mission-critical construction, or complex MEP infrastructure is highly desirable.
· Strong understanding of commercial terms, contract structures (lump sum, GMP, cost-plus), and change order processes.
Skills:
· Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
· Detail-oriented and capable of interpreting legal/contractual language in a construction context.
· Proficient in MS Office, and project management software; knowledge of tools like Procore, Primavera P6, Yardi, or Anaplan is a plus.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
