The Position:
The Solutions Architect will contribute to Veracyte’s success by designing, developing, and implementing integration solutions for our EHR interconnect service, enabling seamless data exchange between Veracyte’s diagnostics products and external electronic health record systems. This role focuses on creating scalable and reliable architectural designs to support interoperability, data flows, and system performance in a healthcare environment. The Solutions Architect will collaborate with senior architects, product managers, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality integration solutions, playing a key role in Veracyte’s digital transformation in diagnostics.
The position is open to US Remote (working PST hours).
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop integration architectures for the EHR interconnect service, including APIs, data pipelines, and workflows for order receipt and result delivery.
- Work with cross-functional teams to gather technical requirements and create architectural blueprints that align with business objectives.
- Implement and support healthcare interoperability standards, with a focus on FHIR for diagnostics-specific use cases.
- Design and build FHIR-based APIs and data mappings to enable real-time data exchange with external EHR systems.
- Ensure proper handling of diagnostics data, such as patient orders and result reporting, for accuracy and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues, optimizing for performance and error handling.
- Ensure solutions comply with data security, privacy, and healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA.
- Collaborate with senior architects to enhance integration scalability, reliability, and monitoring in cloud-based environments.
- Contribute to architectural documentation, testing strategies, and user guides for internal and external stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, adopt best practices, and stay updated on emerging integration technologies and healthcare standards.
Who You Are:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in solutions architecture, integration engineering, or software development, preferably in healthcare or SaaS environments.
- Experience with API design and integration, with familiarity or exposure to FHIR or other healthcare interoperability standards.
- Preference for candidates with healthcare experience, especially in diagnostics or EHR integration; familiarity with FHIR-based order and result workflows is a plus.
- Knowledge of EHR platforms; experience with Epic Aura is valuable but not required.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript, and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail in designing reliable architectures.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

For candidates based in our San Diego office, the salary range is $142,000 - 150,000.
For candidates based in our South San Francisco office, the salary range is $158,000 - 168,000.
For candidates working remote (US), the salary range is $120,000 - $136,000.
The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one
