About the role

Position Overview  

The Athletics Operations Assistant will offer day-to-day administrative support to the athletics department and will manage a variety of tasks associated with game day operations within the Internal Operations Team. This individual will work closely with the Facilities, Events and Business Operations units.

Responsibilities 

  • Administrative tasks for the Internal Operations Team
  • Game day operations - help putting on the best game day experience for fans in every facet of the building
  •  Area specific duties could include:
    • Assist with managing all Athletic/Special events (Staffing, Facility & Event Set-up, Scheduling) 
    • Responsible for game management with several varsity programs 
    • Serve as liaison for visiting teams and officials for select sports 
    • Assist with scheduling practices and events in all Athletic Facilities 
    • Assist Marketing, Ticketing, and neighboring departments on game days
    • Ensure coaches needs concerning facility & operational issues, troubleshoot game day issues regarding video boards, scoreboards, shot clocks & A/V systems 
    • Assist with submitting work orders with Campus Operations regarding maintenance and grounds needs 
    • Assist with communicating event logistics & needs to Campus Security 
    • Assist as a vendor liaison 
    • All other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Organizational skills; ability to multi-task/manage several projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, strategic-thinking skills; willingness to take initiative and learn.
  • Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills along with strong customer service skills
  • Proven ability to work autonomously, collaboratively and within a team structure.
  • Proficiency in office software systems such as: MS Word, Office, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
  • Maintain confidentiality and attention to detail
