The Senior Director, Operations will serve as a leader for operations, overseeing all aspects of sterilization processes, site P&L as well as Environmental Health & Safety.  This role is pivotal in ensuring that the sterilization process meets the standards for safety, sterility, cost and regulatory compliance. The incumbent will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing sites, Quality Assurance, Sterility Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Supply Chain, to best-in-class sterilization and EH&S processes.

This role has full responsibility for Production, Engineering and Operations for Boston Scientific in Coventry, RI. 

 

Your responsibilities include:

 
  • Develop, deploy and implement a long-term site strategy to provide vision and direction for the future to achieve key organizational and functional objectives.
  • Leverage the company delivering excellence essentials processes and tools to operationalize annual strategy.
  • Strong operational focus by leading and driving the organization to continuous improvements in overall performance based on established benchmarks.
  • Remove roadblocks hindering achievement of operational objectives and promote ideas and solutions to improve the agility of the organization.
  • Direct the operation of the facility to ensure compliance with established SOP’s and GMP guidelines.
  • Build and cultivate strong and sustaining partnerships with R&D other corporate functions such as Planning and Sterility Assurance.
  • Understand and proactively comply with current and evolving Environmental and Personnel Safety Regulations.
  • Committed and innovatived in developing employees, driving succession planning and key development programs for direct reports and throughout the organization.
  • In-depth business knowledge and proficient in product and sterilization process.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff, motivate individuals to achieve results, and assist staff in attaining performance/training objectives and career goals.
  • Determine appropriate organizational design to achieve operational goals as well as employee engagement.
  • Drive projects of large magnitude and scope.
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
  • Ensure that all direct reports are aware of their commitment to patient safety and product quality.
  • Identify and champion improvement and functional excellence initiatives.
  • Develop and ensure budgets and schedules meet plan.
  • Assures that appropriate resources (personnel, tools, etc.) are maintained to assure Quality System compliance and adherence to the BSC Quality Policy.
  • Establish and promote a work environment that supports the Quality Policy and Quality System.

Required Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
  • 10+ years of experience of site or business unit leadership including P&L responsibilities
  • Experience as an Operations Director
  • Proven track record of leadership in a global, matrixed organization
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to align technical expertise with organizational objectives

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Sterilization site experience
