About the role

What We Need
CORPAY is hiring a Product Director to own the strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for Mastercard Fleet platform capabilities within US Vehicle Payments. This is a senior role that is primarily platform-focused, delivering network/spec-driven requirements, shared services, and integration capabilities consumed by multiple products and channels (SMB through Enterprise; Local and Partner). You’ll lead through influence across product, engineering, architecture, compliance, ops, and GTM, while also serving as the day-to-day Product Owner for a scrum team to drive predictable delivery and adoption.

How We Work
As a Director, you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment. CORPAY will set you up for success by providing:

• Strong preference for Atlanta, GA or Nashville, TN.
• Reports to either the VP, Product (USVP) or to the Senior Director, Fleet Mastercard.
• Corpay will set you up for success by providing:
• Assigned workspace in [Atlanta, GA or Nashville, TN office — TBD exact office]
• Company-issued equipment + remote access
• Hands-on training

Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:

Product leadership (platform/program outcomes)
• Own the strategy and roadmap for Mastercard Fleet platform capabilities and network/program requirements across USVP segments and channels.
• Drive clarity on outcomes appropriate for backend/platform work: mandate readiness, adoption by consuming teams, platform reliability, delivery predictability, operational efficiency, and measurable business impact where applicable.
• Translate customer, partner, and business needs into prioritized epics/features, balance SMB vs Enterprise needs and Local vs Partner requirements.

Execution of Network/Spec Mandates (core to role)
• Interpret Mastercard rules/specs and program changes; convert into clear, testable requirements and delivery plans across dependent systems and teams.
• Ensure platform changes are consumable: versioning/migration approach, documentation, release notes, and adoption plans for downstream teams.

Embedded Product Owner (delivery execution for the squad)
• Serve as day-to-day Product Owner for a scrum team: backlog ownership, refinement, sprint planning, demos, retros, and crisp acceptance criteria / definition of ready & done.
• Create and maintain delivery artifacts appropriate to technical work: PRDs/RFCs, service/API requirements, data contracts, batch/file specifications, process flows, and operational runbooks.

Technical partnership in a legacy/complex environment
• Partner with Engineering and Architecture to deliver in a legacy ecosystem (Mainframe + AS/400; file/batch integrations), collaborating effectively with COBOL and Java teams, and leveraging modern services/APIs where applicable.
• Identify tradeoffs and manage risks across scope, timeline, compliance, technical constraints, and operational impact; escalate decisions appropriately and drive closure.

Cross-functional leadership & operational rigor (lead through influence)
• Drive alignment and decision-making across Sales/GTM, Partner teams, Operations, Risk/Compliance, Customer Support, Implementation, and Finance.
• Lead launch/release readiness: internal enablement, training, communications, release notes, and partner coordination to ensure consistent execution.
• Operate with a production-ownership mindset: partner on incident triage, root cause follow-up, prevention, and quality/stability improvements.

• 10+ years product management experience, with evidence of shipping platform/backend capabilities end-to-end.
• Proven Product Owner experience with agile/scrum teams and frequent delivery.
• Card issuing experience (issuer/processor; authorization, settlement, controls).
• Experience with legacy cores and constraints: Mainframe and/or AS/400; batch/file-based integrations; effective collaboration with COBOL and Java engineering teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication can drive alignment and decisions without formal authority.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
