About the role

This is a maximum term contract for a 12 month period to cover parental leave. The ideal candidate will work 38 hours per week, however we are open to flexible part time options. This position is based in our head office, located at the Angela Wright Bennett Centre in Northbridge.

The Manager, People and Culture leads and manages a trusted, professional and objective advisory service to People & Culture (P&C) stakeholders, being Ruah leaders and their people. This role partners with leaders to continually develop and implement solutions across Ruah’s talent lifecycle, delivering outcomes to meet strategic and operational objectives.

Overseeing portfolios of Ruah service areas, this role is an expert across all generalist HR disciplines inclusive of employee and industrial relations activities with staff experience being at the forefront of action.

This role, as part of the wider leadership team, elevates Ruah’s employee value proposition as a brand ambassador that is an active ally across our internal communities (Reconciliation, LGBTIQ+ etc).

Who are we looking for?

To be successful for this opportunity you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A Inclusive P&C leader - in functional service terms and for those you lead.
  • Strength in ER/IR - Fair Work Act and Interpretation of Awards/EAs and navigating complex matters.
  • An experienced and natural communicator who is clear and concise, comfortable and confidant in front of many people, and with data & reporting insight.
  • Experience in proactively managing the P&C aspects of Ruah's employee lifecycle - policy and procedures, coaching leaders, supporting employees, and working collaboratively to deliver impactful outcomes.
  • Have a growth mindset, be a lifelong learner because of your continuous desire to learn, grow and strengthen your practice.

Highly Desirable

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, AHRI member
  • Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and ability to work with Aboriginal and culturally diverse people is highly desirable.
