Job Title: Donations Assistant Manager


Salary Range: $53,000-57,000


FLSA Status: Salary, Non-Exempt


Location: Seattle - Various Sites


About the Position

The Donations Assistant Manager is responsible for the successful operation of assigned Donation sites, including but not limited to, overseeing staff and donations flow, providing customer service in a professional manner, ensure consistency and compliance of operations and policies and promoting positive teamwork.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
• Oversee all donation station operations including, ensuring proper staff levels at all times and that sorting and loading of donations meets department and safety guidelines.
• Ensure operational and customer service standards are met. Resolve customer service opportunities to ensure we are meeting donor needs.
• Upholds safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
• Responsible for creating DSA work schedules consistent with the needs of the business and following applicable laws and city ordinances.
• Regularly communicate with Donations Manager to discuss any site or employee concerns, strengths, opportunities, and trends in donations flow, etc.
• Complete new hire and other human resources paperwork timely and accurately.
• Manage and meet weekly payroll processing deadlines.
• Conduct regular station audits and meet reporting deadlines. Work with sites to improve scores and ensure staff have the proper tools and resources to do their jobs.
• Maintain accurate donations and status reports such as donor count records.
• Coordinate security measures with Asset Protection.
• Collaborate with Donations Manager in identifying alternative donations streams and trends to increase donation market share. Identify locations and coordinate placement of new donations sites/bins.
• Participate in developing long-range goals and objectives for the department.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Goodwill’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; monitoring performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems. Partner with People Relations as needed and appropriate.

Education and Experience:
• High school or equivalent.
• 2 years donations management experience, or similar field.
• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience.
• Minimum 3 years working in a customer service and/or retail environment.
• Able to act and communicate in a culturally competent manner.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good presentation skills; for small and large groups; communicating with internal/external customers.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.
