The Commercial Public Sector Account Executive is responsible for building new business and expanding existing relationships across three core public sector segments: Higher Education, Municipalities and Utility companies including critical infrastructure. These organisations demand high resilience, strong governance and predictable operations, and the AE must work with pace, structure and a strong understanding of their challenges.
This is a field facing sales role where trust and presence matter. You will navigate public sector decision paths, frameworks, procurement processes and multi stakeholder environments while collaborating closely with ecosystem partners to expand reach and strengthen your position.
Your mission is to connect Commvault’s cyber resilience and data protection capabilities to real public sector outcomes such as NIS2 readiness, operational continuity, data governance and cost efficiency.
We are looking for a driven sales professional with a hunter mindset who enjoys breaking into new accounts, builds trust fast and executes with confidence together with internal and external teams.

What you will do
- Identify, qualify and progress new business opportunities across Higher Education, Municipalities and Utility organisations
- Maintain a strong weekly rhythm of face to face engagement with customers and partners
- Build and execute a territory plan that aligns with public sector planning cycles and procurement windows
- Map your accounts to understand political structures, decision makers, IT operations and procurement contacts
- Collaborate with partners across the ecosystem for access, influence and joint execution
- Enable partners on our value proposition and support them in customer engagements
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals that connect resilience, recovery and operational value to customer missions
- Guide customers through NIS2, compliance and regulatory discussions tied to risk, uptime and critical service delivery
- Negotiate and close deals with discipline and strong qualification inside public procurement frameworks
- Use sales tools and cadence to ensure predictable forecasting and opportunity management
- Represent Commvault at public sector events, leadership briefings and stakeholder workshops
What we are looking for
You are a sales professional who:
- Has a proven track record working with Higher Education, Municipalities or Utility customers
- Understands public sector procurement including frameworks, RFI, RFP and LOU processes
- Builds trust quickly at both technical and executive levels
- Has a hunter mindset and enjoys breaking into new public sector accounts
- Works well with partners and sees them as essential to access, scale and influence
- Translates technical capability into public sector value around uptime, resilience, continuity and compliance
- Operates with structure, consistency and field discipline
- Manages long sales cycles by building momentum and aligning stakeholders
- Required experience:
- Bachelor degree or relevant work experience
- Minimum of five years proven success in software or infrastructure sales
- Experience selling complex solutions in the publi
