About the role
Job Summary
Under moderate supervision, provides support for month-end closing requirements including fixed assets, intercompany, journal entries, financial reporting and closing requirements. Acts as a liaison between multiple departments to resolve issues or answer inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Performs accounting functions including monthly account reconciliations, monitoring certain monthly accruals and preparing journal entries in order to ensure proper reporting financials.
- Analyze CIP projects and work with Business Planning on project status, issues, etc.
- Support the annual fixed asset count accordingly.
- Reconcile inventory accounts and ensure accurate reporting of stock levels and valuation.
- Monitor and record inventory transactions including transfers and adjustments.
- Prepare detail reports on inventory performance and provide insights into variances or discrepancies.
- Ensures internal controls are operating correctly with the goal of zero deficiencies through JSOX auditing.
- Performs financial analysis and assists in financial reporting activities in order to ensure proper recording of transactions.
- Investigates and analyzes accounting and financial related data in order to reconcile and audit information.
- Performs more complex intercompany account reconciliation.
- Assists with process improvement activities including maintaining and implementing internal controls.
- Acts as a liaison between internal departments and other DENSO locations in order to resolve outstanding issues.
- Assist on internal and external audit.
- Performs monthly financial reporting as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 2-5+ years of relevant Accounting experience.
- Cost Accounting experience preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- Knowledge of GAAP/IFRS preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit information to internal and external customers.
- Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible.
- Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues.
- Intermediate understanding of accounting principles.
- Fixed Asset Software (e.g. Sage, Oracle, SAP, etc.).
- Ability to communicate and resolve issues effectively and efficiently with other departments.
- Process improvement mindset.
- Intermediate system knowledge in Accounting.
- Assist in maintaining the integrity of financial statements.
- Advanced skills in Excel (e.g. Vlookups, sumifs, pivot table, etc.).
Salary $65,000-$80,000.
