MUFG is seeking a Security Analyst with a strong interest in cryptography to join the Cryptographic Posture Management (CPM) team. Cryptographic Posture Management focuses on cryptographic discovery, inventory, and risk-based analysis to assess current cryptographic posture and future readiness across the enterprise.

This role offers hands-on exposure to real-world cryptographic systems and standards, including early planning and readiness activities related to post-quantum cryptography. Analysts in this role develop a practical understanding of how cryptographic risk is assessed, measured, and managed at enterprise scale.

Why This Role is Different:

  • This role focuses on analysis, assessment, and planning, not running production cryptographic systems.
  • You will learn how cryptographic risk is measured and managed at enterprise scale, including preparation for long-term transitions such as post-quantum cryptography.
  • This role provides a clear growth path into senior analytical, architectural, or cryptographic leadership roles.

What You’ll Work On:

Cryptographic Posture Management:

  • Assist in assessing cryptographic posture across applications, platforms, and infrastructure, including:
    • Transport security (TLS, SSH, IPsec)
    • Digital certificates and trust chains
    • Cryptographic algorithms and key usage
  • Review and analyze data from security tools, inventories and assessments to:
    • Identify gaps in visibility or coverage
    • Highlight unmanaged, outdated, or non-standard cryptographic implementations
  • Support recurring cryptographic posture assessments and metrics used by security leadership

Data-Driven Security Analysis

  • Work with structured datasets related to cryptography and encryption controls.
  • Use analytical tools to:
    • Summarize findings
    • Identify trends and patterns
    • Support risk-based prioritization
  • Help translate technical findings into clear written summaries for security and engineering stakeholders

Future Cryptographic Planning Support

  • Support analysis and planning activities related to cryptographic transitions, including algorithm deprecation, certificate lifecycle changes, and post-quantum cryptography readiness.
  • Work directly with system managers, application owners, and stakeholders across core banking and enterprise functions to:
    • Assess cryptographic dependencies
    • Understand operational constraints
    • Support planning for cryptographic migrations and long-term transitions

Data & Analytical Skills:

Candidates should have exposure to at least one of the following (academic, internship, or professional experience):

  • Excel, including pivot tables, structured analysis, and basic formulas
  • Power BI or similar reporting and data visualization tools
  • Python for basic data analysis
  • Jupiter Notebooks
