ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the US Specialty Care (US SC) Medical Lead for Gastroenterology, Biosimilars, and Rheumatology within headquarters, the Dir, Rheumatology will be an integral member of the GI/Biosims/Rheum Medical Affairs team supporting current in-line assets (Xeljanz, Inflectra, and Abrilada), as well as pipeline assets depending on business needs and priorities.
The Director will develop long-term relationships with a wide variety of key healthcare stakeholders and customers, including professional organizations, patient societies, and key opinion leaders to demonstrate clinical and economic value of our assets.These activities are implemented to help inform HCPs and formulary decision-makers through medical presentations, pharmacoeconomic analyses, and outcomes evaluations along with the Organized Customer Group and Field Medical colleagues. Additional customer collaborations are built with the goal of aligning corporate medical priorities with the specific needs of the customer to advance the quality of patient care in areas of mutual interest, to identify provider and/or patient knowledge gaps, and areas for quality improvementinterventions. The Director will develop, in conjunction with Medical team colleagues, an advanced perspective of the evolving clinical and healthcare landscape within Rheumatology and the Biosimilar space.
The Director will utilize his/her understanding of and experience in clinical and patient-directed disease state issues to help assist Pfizer and Global Medical Affairs on the most strategic approaches to medical development of assets throughout various stages of the life cycle.The Director will also provide Pfizer brand teams with customer and clinical insights to assist in informing Pfizer strategies on critical disease state related health issues and facilitate the development of customer-focused toolsand medical communications to support patient access to quality medicines.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in reviewing & approving promotional and nonpromotional materials ensuring fair balance
Collaborate with cross functional constituents from Commercial, Organized Customer, Field Medical to drive US strategic direction for the Brand
Ability to plan and lead successful advisory boards, congress-related symposia & congress planning
Ability to contribute to Publication planning, data generation activities and other medical/scientific activities related to informing HCPs on proper use of this potential new asset
Serve as a reliable, trusted source of accurate and scientific knowledge for the data, disease state, product label and competitive data sets for clinical trials
Participate in developing and maintaining HCP engagement plans for HQ Medical Affairs
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.
MD/DO professional degrees with 4+ years of experience in Gastroenterology or Rheumatology
Relationship builder within and outside of Pfizer
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Team oriented for success
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Specialty training and board certification in Gastroenterology or Rheumatology is preferred
Clinical experience in IBD or RA preferred
