About the role
Essential Job Functions:
- Employee Relations:
- Manage employee relations issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Conduct investigations and collaborate with the HR Manager on escalated cases.
- Provide consultative support to managers and employees on HR matters.
- Benefits Administration:
- Administer health and welfare benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and terminations.
- Collaborate with brokers and carriers to secure competitive pricing and benefits packages.
- Conduct regular reviews of benefit programs for cost-effectiveness.
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Lead recruitment initiatives, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and conducting interviews.
- Use Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to manage applicant flow and maintain accurate records.
- Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring new hires are smoothly integrated into the company.
- HR Policy Development and Implementation:
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Conduct training sessions and ensure all staff are informed of policy changes.
- HRIS and Reporting:
- Manage HRIS to ensure accurate data management and reporting.
- Prepare and present HR metrics and reports to senior management.
- Compensation and Performance Management:
- Assist in the development and administration of compensation programs.
- Support the performance management process, including goal setting, evaluations, and development plans.
- Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit required reports, such as EEO-1 and OSHA logs.
- Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and partner with management to develop and deliver training programs.
- Support employee development initiatives and succession planning.
- Other Duties:
- Participate in HR-related projects and initiatives as needed.
- Attend relevant training sessions, seminars, and conferences to stay current on HR best practices.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred.
- Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on employee relations, benefits administration, and recruitment.
- Experience in a supervisory or lead HR role is preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and employment laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

- Work Environment:
- Typically in an office setting with occasional travel required.
