Job Description:
At Regions, the Business Intelligence Developer handles the development, maintenance, integration, data governance, and data reporting for Business Intelligence solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Communicates with the team to identify needs and evaluates alternative business solutions
- Designs, creates, and implements highly-complex analysis solutions to support the Business Intelligence (BI) environment
- Identifies new data sources and handles integration into the existing warehouse
- Codes, tests, debugs, implements highly-complex BI reporting solutions
- Automates activities wherever possible to minimize resources needs
- Acts as a subject matter expert
- Troubleshoots and tunes to isolate and identify problems to optimize systems and reporting performance
- May act as a resource on occasion to associates with less experience
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Statistics, or a related field five (5) years of related experience such as project management, system management, and data intelligence operations
- Or High School Diploma or GED and nine (9) years of related experience such as project management, system management, and data intelligence operations
Preferences
- Prior experience in a financial institution
- Prior experience using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, and QlikView
- Prior experience using relational databases such as SQL and Oracle
- Prior experience using query development, scripting, and programming skills such as Excel Power Pivot and Dax
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to work independently within a team environment
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Strong theoretical knowledge of relational database techniques
- Strong verbal, written communication, and organizational skills
- Strong work ethic and self-motivation
- Understanding of relational database models
This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. The location available for this role is Birmingham, AL.
