The role:

Entegris is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of R&D Engineering to lead the development of next‑generation semiconductor hardware/delivery systems solutions. In this high‑impact leadership role, you will guide a multidisciplinary engineering team through the full product lifecycle — from concept and design to validation, manufacturing, and customer deployment.

You’ll shape the future of our hardware portfolio by driving innovation, partnering with global manufacturing teams, and ensuring our products meet the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability. If you thrive in a fast‑paced, technical environment and are passionate about building advanced technologies that power the semiconductor industry, this is an opportunity to make a significant and lasting impact

What you'll do:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers in the design, development, verification and deployment of semiconductor delivery system products for solid and liquid ALD and CVD precursors.
  • Work with contract manufacturers domestically and internationally on designing, building, testing, qualification, and continuous improvements of Entegris delivery systems and hardware within a Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) approach.
  • Research and identify improved hardware sub-components (valves, pressure transducers, control systems etc.) to be used to better overall customer satisfaction with the cost, performance, quality, safety, and delivery of our hardware products.
  • Manage, develop, and document intellectual property in collaboration with Entegris legal.
  • Develop performance metrics focused on safety, quality, customer satisfaction and performance for Entegris delivery systems and hardware.
  • Create, manage, and validate the deliverables from product development to the release to manufacturing.
  • Drive internal and external engineering resources to meet the needs of customers regarding overall product performance and project timelines.
  • Manage the professional development of the engineering team, with a focus on semiconductor technical acumen and technical project execution.
  • Support the transition of design concepts, detailed design, and product release information to manufacturing partners (internal or external) and provide ongoing technical/engineering oversight to manufacturing partners (internal and external).
  • Engage with product marketing, field service engineering and customers on detailed functional requirements for our delivery systems and hardware products.
  • Have ability and willingness to take a “hands-on” approach and lead by example to meeting project scope and timing including assisting project team members in the completion of deliverables as needed.
  • Ability to travel 30% both domestically and internationally.

What we seek:

  • 10+ years engineering experience in a related engineering discipline (mechanical, electrical or controls).
  • Minimum of a BS degree in engineering; MS degree in engineering is preferred.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role with a core strength in leading diverse, technical, engineering teams in the semiconductor industry.
  • Experience in designing, developing or maintaining ALD/CVD delivery systems and working with 3rd party manufacturers to design, verify and build the final products to the defined specification.
  • Demonstrated project execution with exemplary safety, product performance, timing, and budget controls.
  • Hands-on experience working with Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology, product lifecycle management systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.); product data management tools (Accolade); and engineering change order systems.
  • Experience with managing a technical group with a wide range of experience in a fast paced, detailed orientated, global environment.
  • Travel, both domestically and internationally, will be required to effectively fulfill the position’s responsibilities.

Outstanding candidates will have:

  • Demonstrated experience within a global, multicultural, multi-location organization serving the semiconductor industry.
  • Timely development, characterization and deployment of new chemical delivery systems.
