Python Team Lead

Job Description:

This individual will be responsible for designing and developing Plugins for a Python Based Application to support business requirements. Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing. Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation. Familiar with data structures and other standard concepts, practices and procedures required for the application development. Requires a degree of creativity and latitude. The individual will also work with Business Users, Managers or Developers of our customers. The individual will provide the consulting skills required to analyze customer needs and gaps and propose solutions to achieve the desired state. The individual will also manage a remote team and delegate design, documentation, development and testing activities.

Requirements

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Business Analysts to translate customer requirements into functional product configurations.
• Develop new product plug-ins (Python and JavaScript) to meet customer requirements.
• Troubleshoot customer problems.
• Design, implement and maintain Python applications.
• Take part in software and architectural development activities.
• Conduct software analysis, programming, testing, and debugging.
• Identifying production and non-production application issues.
• Transforming requirements into stipulations.
• Recommend changes to improve established Python application processes.
• Develop technical designs for application development.

• Develop application code for Python programs.
• Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges.
• Manage remote team and delegate Tasks, documentation, development, and testing activities.

Required Skills: 

• Experience with at least one Python framework like Django, Flask.
• Should have working knowledge on Python dependencies like Tornado, scientific Python (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy).
• Familiar with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS and JavaScript.
• Webservice API integrations required. MYSQL database required.
• Visual Studio/Windows GUI/Subversion required.
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, bitbucket.
• User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.
• Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system.
• Understanding of MVC design patterns

• Should be able to oversee and drive projects forward.
• Experience in leading, coaching and mentoring other developers.

• Experience in working in an Agile / Sprint Based Development Project is a plus.

Required Education / Experience:

• Bachelor’s/master’s or equivalent degree.
• Experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Python, JavaScript applications.
• Experience in applying Data Structure concepts
• Experience in R&D Informatics systems such as LIMS, ELN, SDMS would be preferred but not required.
