What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Responsible for Body Structure engineering and release CAD
  • Manage the design of parts to insure proper package and production release
  • Conduct analysis of sections, components, and sub-systems to drive the design of individual parts to support the overall vehicle efficiencies.
  • Develop CAD to support design alternative studies and production development of parts.
  • Participate in collaborative design and creation of solutions for cost, weight, and efficient design
  • Manage resources efficiently including external cad resources.
  • Be a key member within the Body Structures team and liaison with Magna and external CAD sources.
  • Body Structure co-lead for tolerance development
  • Body Structure lead for 3DX development and interaction with V5

 

Location & Travel Expectations:

  • This role will be based out of the Scout Motors location in Novi, Michigan.
  • The responsibilities of this role require 3-5 days attendance in office with in-person meetings and events regularly. 
  • Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.
  • Travel: May be required to travel domestically to attend supplier and manufacturing reviews.

  • Education/Certifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Years of Experience: 5 years of experience in Body Structures
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in utilizing CAD for designing and developing detailed parts, preferably in Catia V5 or 3DX.
  • Strong technical skills related to engineering, coupled with a 1st principles approach to problem solving.
  • Familiarity with computer-aided engineering (CAE) or direct experience in this field.
  • An ability to build strong working relationships with people across all organizational levels.
