Qualifications, Duties, PerksAn Average Day:

Strategic & Clinical Leadership
Provide consultation, direction, and oversight to ensure programs and services are implemented at the highest standards—ensuring patients receive exceptional hospice care.
Ensure policies and procedures are continuously monitored, updated, and aligned with all regulatory and accreditation changes.
Work closely with the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) to set strategic goals, direction, policies, and communication frameworks that drive consistency and alignment across all locations.
Collaborate with the CCO to create and implement performance improvement projects, clinical strategies, and scalable processes that support the hospice mission.
Operational Excellence & Cross‑Functional Partnership
Assist Executive Directors and Directors of Patient Care Services in integrating clinical and operational communication across departments to support quality goals and clinical decision‑making.
Provide motivational, inspirational leadership that drives best‑practice standards in clinical operations and metric management.
Collaborate with the Regional VPO to assess and direct the financial impact of clinical operating metrics.
Provide oversight and strategic guidance for clinical quality planning in partnership with the Regional VPO.
Monitor progress toward quality metric goals and clearly communicate objectives and expectations to location leadership.
Partner with the CCO to strengthen clinical operating metrics, quality measures, monitoring systems, and technology‑enabled activities across locations.
Proactively identify issues, oversee corrective action tracking, and leverage findings for organizational learning and improvement.
Ensure all locations maintain continuous survey readiness and preparedness for federal audits.
Documentation, Eligibility & Clinical Integrity
Collaborate with the Clinical Team on education related to documentation quality, including decline, eligibility, and LCD guideline adherence.
Provide oversight and support related to Not Taken For Care (NTFC) reviews and live discharge management.
Partner with leadership, clinical teams, and Business Development to improve eligible admission conversion and ensure high‑quality transitions.
Safeguard Bristol Hospice by ensuring consistent compliance with all hospice regulatory requirements.
People Leadership & Development
Hire, evaluate, develop, and—when necessary—terminate direct reports to maintain a high‑performing clinical operations team.
Conduct annual performance evaluations (or more frequently as needed) to ensure competency, growth, and accountability.
Quality, QAPI & Performance Analysis
Oversee QAPI tracking, trending, and performance interpretation; review all PIPs and outcomes and provide guidance based on data insights.
Direct the compilation, aggregation, and trending of quality data across key areas:
patient care, safety, risk management, documentation audits, infection control, outcomes, public reporting, Hospice Compare metrics, and patient/family satisfaction.
Advise locations and regional leadership on actions needed to improve clinical outcomes and quality scores.
You Bring:
(includes, but not limited to)
Must be a Registered Nurse
Must have a four (4) year college degree in health care or business-related field
Must have five (5) years of experience in hospice/homecare management
Must be able to travel short and long distances as required, up to 75% of the time
Must possess a nursing back
