Vice President, Head of Global Clinical Biomarker and CDx Development

General Description:

The candidate will report to Vice President, Head of Translational Discovery, Research and Medicine, and lead global Clinical Biomarker and CDx development team, including clinical biomarker science, biomarker operations.

Essential Functions of the Job:

• Lead clinical biomarker, clinical translational research and Dx development in clinical trials and support collaboration research with external academic and clinical partners.

• Responsible for integrating translational research and clinical development to develop a biomarker strategy in alignment with clinical development objectives, leading efforts for data generations, interpretation and communication to the development team

• Engages team members to ensure alignment of biomarker strategies with clinical operational plans with functional area capabilities.

• Delivers high quality biomarker strategies for target engagement, pharmacodynamics endpoints, patient selection and companion diagnostic development

• Continually analyzes progress, engages in critical thinking, and asserts strong problem-solving towards delivering key data and interpretation essential for decision making.

• Effectively interfaces with functional areas to ensure strategic alignment and to obtain appropriate operational resources to deliver on biomarker goals

• Communicated key biomarker program information, risks and milestones, and manages information flow across team members.

Required Experience:

• PhD in a Life Science discipline

• 10+ years of experience in the drug development process within a pharmaceutical company or biotech industry.  

• Comprehensive scientific understanding in translational research, clinical biomarker and companion diagnostic development, including a proven track record in delivering successful, high-quality outcomes in translational science and clinical biomarker in an industry setting

• Demonstrated knowledge of oncology and/or immunology disease biology, and various biomarker platforms and their clinical practice.

• Experience of biomarker discovery and translational research in at least some of the following areas: (i) immunotherapy or (ii) targeted therapies such as antibody-drug conjugates, and small molecule target therapy et al.

• Demonstrated scientific and logical thinking with track record of high-profile scientific publications
