Job Description

Job title: Parts Room & Maintenance Technician 
BG/BU: AFNA – Amcor Flexibles North America

1. Job Overview
A Maintenance Technician installs, tests, repairs, and maintains plant production machinery, support equipment, building, and other systems throughout the site to maintain optimum operating conditions and plant productivity. Maintenance Technician also assists with related upgrades, improvements, and assigned projects as required.
2. Job Dimensions
•    Install, Test, Repair, and Maintain Plant Production Machinery 
•    Support Equipment, Building, and other systems throughout the site as needed.
•    Assist with related Upgrades, Improvements, and Assigned Projects as Required 
•    Ensure that all equipment, parts, and personnel are available through procurement and inventory management to efficiently complete each work order assignment with minimum downtime.
•    Provide technical advice on matters relating to equipment modification and time estimates on maintenance projects.
•    Provide technical advice on matters relating to equipment modification and time estimates on maintenance projects.
•    Ordering of replacements and spare parts, maintenance & manufacturing supplies, tools, lubricants, machine rolls, etc. 
•    Identify unknown parts and locate supplier(s) for these parts as needed for maintenance of the plant machinery.
•    Establishes and maintains effective systems and controls for inventories of all spare parts.
•    Compares vendors for best pricing, delivery, and overall service to find the best suppliers.
•    Assist with maintenance daily tasks and work orders.
•    Prepares and arranges shipping for those parts needing repairs, rebuilding, etc.
•    Works with Maintenance personnel during machine breakdowns to provide efficient part identification and purchase if needed.
•    Records all daily parts withdrawals into the computer database and aassures all new parts are entered into Parts database with accurate, complete, and detailed information.

3. Principal Accountabilities
•    Receives and performs job assignments through work orders, sketches, PM schedules, blueprints, or verbal instructions. Follows applicable codes and regulations on work performed.
•    Responds to emergency requests for repairs/replacements.
•    Troubleshoots malfunctioning systems, apparatus and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate and remedy the breakdown or malfunction.
•    Installation of conduits, wire connections to circuit breakers, transformers, or other components.
•    Repair or replace wiring, equipment and fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
•    Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects and the need for adjustme
