Responsibilities:
This role will be pivotal in the startup of the syringe inspection lines for the new Lilly RTP facility. This role will be directly involved with the implementation of training programs for the Visual Inspection Team at Lilly RTP. This position will have the opportunity to provide continuous improvement initiatives and strive to create the most effective and efficient training environment possible. The position will be involved with the evaluation of existing employees as well as the onboarding/upskilling of new hires in both the startup phase and commercial production.
Key Objectives
The Lead Trainer - Inspection Operations is responsible for creating and executing against training schedules for operations personnel in the Visual Inspection Department
Responsible for delivering the manual and semiautomated visual inspection training content to train and qualify operators
Develop innovative strategies to drive accelerated competency of new hires
Work with network partners to determine/implement best practices
Develop a formalized onboarding program for orienting new employees to the department
May be involved in assessment of skills and competencies for all operators, coordination of on-the-job trainings to close skill gaps, providing feedback to reinforce training, and assessment of documents or systems that the operators utilize to perform their jobs for improvement opportunities.
Is instrumental in revision of key procedures / training courses in order to make them more user friendly and better understood by operators.
Serves as a subject matter expert for qualification program decisions and continuous improvement efforts
Responsible for understanding and communicating changes to department documentation and the impact on employee training status
Responsible for key training metrics and reporting of operator training metrics
Assists supervision with identifying appropriate duty curriculum assigned to operators
Basic Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years experience in GMP manufacturing and/or training environments.
Demonstrated leadership skills
Demonstrated ability to train and coach others
Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal)
Demonstrated interpersonal skills
Flexibility and problem-solving skills
Basic computer skills (desktop software) required
Must pass a “fitness for duty” physical exam
Ability to start on a day shift schedule for training, then move to a night shift, Mon-Fri schedule
Ability to work overtime or flex schedule as required to support business needs
