Geotab is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to actively work on the designing of data modeling processes, specially focused on the geospatial space. </span></p> <h1><span>What you'll do:</span></h1> <p><span>The Senior Data Scientist will explore data from multiple sources in order to design and construct new data modeling processes using prototypes, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analyses. This position utilizes strong problem-solving skills with statistical analysis in order to align data products with Geotab’s organizational goals. </span></p> <h1><span>How you'll make an impact</span></h1> <ul> <li><span>Implement new statistical or mathematical methodologies for specific models of data analysis.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Research the feasibility of potential predictive maintenance opportunities (only to be used for job postings related to predictive maintenance role). <br/></span></li> <li><span>Provide expert project leadership as a SME: guidance to team members and participate in cross-departmental projects establishing Geotab as a leader in data science.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Create algorithms and predictive models to extract information required to solve complex business problems.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Conduct causality experiments by applying A/B experiments or epidemiological approach to identify the root issues of an observed result.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Identify new, complex queries from Big Data infrastructure from data warehousing database (i.e. Google BigQuery) to add value to the organization.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Use machine learning (ML) packages (e.g. Scikit-learn and Tensorflow) to develop ML models and features.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Test the performance of data-driven products and make recommendations for improving Geotab’s product suite.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Collaborate with internal technical teams and external stakeholders to gather requirements.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards to drive key business decisions.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Build production datasets and help customers solve business problems.<br/></span></li> </ul> <h1><span>What you'll bring to the role</span></h1> <ul> <li><span>Post-secondary Degree specialization in Computer Science, Software or Computer Engineering or a related field.</span></li> <li><span>6+ years of experience as a Data Scientist or similar role.<br/></span></li> <li><span>5-8 years experience programming in Python and working with SQL.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Solid understanding of machine learning and operations research.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Affinity for statistical analysis and predictive modeling.<br/></span></li> <li><span>Possess strong business acumen and link marketing initiatives to streamline operations.<br/></span></li> <li><span>High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.<br/
