Join us as O&M Site General Manager, and you’ll be looking at a career-defining role based in Newark, New Jersey US.

 

Provide overall leadership responsibility and accountability for the success of a large Service Delivery Center (SDC). Is primary Alstom representative to the customer and community, demonstrating the highest level of ethical professionalism and delivering the message that Alstom is the global leader in the transportation industry. Maintain overall accountability for talent management and development the SDC.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

LEADERSHIP

• Communicate strategic and functional visions to all SDC Employees through managers and ensures execution alignment.

 

ENGAGEMENT

• Develop and cascades engagement strategies to the SDC employees.
• Rely on Managers/Supervisors to ensure employee engagement.

 

TALENT DEVELOPMENT

• Challenge individuals to develop skill outside of their comfort zone.
• Identify and develop successor to key roles, including own role.

 

SAFETY CULTURE

• Develop and assume accountability for strategic Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS) vision at the SDC.
• Lead by example, ensure Manager/Supervisor roles include creating, fostering & encouraging a true safety culture. 

 

BUSINESS EXPERTISE

• Ability to develop “win-win” situations with customer.
• Place a key role in developing, marketing & selling future business and maximizing opportunities.
• Map a clear strategy for life asset management creating opportunity & reinforcing customer intimacy.
• Drive budget management to lowest level of the SDC.
• Must be financially astute with vision for growth & risk mitigation.
• Politically savvy to deal with contract management level up to the highest executive level.

 

CUSTOMER INFLUENCE

• Serves as a source of professional advise for solving significant customer problems.
• With little guidance, initiates commercial propositions to the customer for value-added projects.

 

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

• Must be able to lead multi-skilled and cross-functional teams including technical staff bring resolution of complex problems.

 

INFLUENCE 

• Deals directly with internal discipline to resolve problems and provide solutions.

 

As our ideal candidate you have:

• A Bachelors degree in Engineering, business or other related field, Masters degree (MBA) preferred.
• 10 to 15 years proven experience demonstrating success in developing and leading similar organizations, preferably in the transportation industry with profit & loss responsibility.
• Verbal, written and presentation skills, in English are essential.
• Experience in transportation business preferred, but experience in other similar organizational structure considered.
• A high level of proven leadership skills in an organization with multiple functions and disciplines reporting directly and indirectly.
• Understanding the underlying needs and motivations of others to maximize team engagement.
• The ability to remove internal and external road blocks so others may solve problems from minor to the most complex situations.
• You leverage a network of support, both internally and externally, to achieve goals.
• You can successfully influence others to obtain buy-in and support for a specific course of action.
• You understand and encourages others’ to provide their point of view.
• You are open to changing a course of action based on input.
• You maintains an extremely high level of interpersonal communication.
• Express compelling vision and maintains the highest level of ethical behavior that can be emulated by others.
