As the Chief Software Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of our organization's software systems and solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping our technology strategy, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our software products. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful software architecture and development.
The target base salary range for this position is $190,000-$250,000
Final compensation packages are determined by multiple factors such as individual experience, education, qualifications, certifications, performance level, specialized expertise, and geographic location, and may vary from the target salary range listed above.

As the Chief Software Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of our organization's software systems and solutions. You will play a critical role in shaping our technology strategy, ensuring the scalability, reliability, and security of our software products. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of successful software architecture and development.
Responsibilities:
- Software Architecture: Define and establish the overall software architecture vision and strategy in alignment with the organization's business objectives. Design scalable and high-performance software systems that meet present and future needs.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership to development teams, guiding them in best practices, architectural principles, and coding standards. Mentor and coach team members to enhance their technical skills and productivity.
- Technology Selection: Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, frameworks, and tools to achieve optimal software development and delivery. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to maintain a competitive edge.
- System Integration: Oversee the design of component and service interfaces, ensuring seamless communication and compatibility.
- Security and Compliance: Implement security measures and industry best practices to safeguard sensitive data and protect against cyber threats. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and developers, to plan and execute software projects within established timelines and budgets.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and system workflows.
- Risk Assessment: Proactively identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure smooth project execution.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives for process improvement, innovation, enhancing developer experience, and the adoption of modern development methodologies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. A higher degree is a plus.
- 10 years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a technical leadership role organizing the engineering work of multiple teams.
- Expertise in software design principles, software development methodologies, and architectural patterns.
- Strong knowledge of various programming languages, frameworks, and technologies, such as Java, Node, Scala, Apache Spark)
- Hands-on experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and microservices architecture.
- Thorough understanding of different database technologies, their strengths, weaknesses, data patterns, and handling data at scale.
- Deep understanding of security best practices, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to deliver high-quality results.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
