Media Tech Summer 2024 Internship Program:

• Time Commitment: 40 hours per week

Here at NBCU, we strive to be on the forefront of leading-edge technology and are seeking a savvy troop of technologists we call Media Tech Interns.   

Our program exposes students to technical opportunities across NBCUniversal’s Operations & Technology organizations and serves as a main pipeline into our Rotational Associate Programs. As a NBCUniversal Media Tech Intern, you will gain hands-on experience, allowing you to apply your classroom knowledge to practical situations. We offer a 2 day in-person orientation in our NY office where we bring all interns together to meet each other and various business leaders.   

Students will experience firsthand how one of the largest media and entertainment companies in the world operates and delivers strategic, innovative solutions. 

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to: 
  

• DevOps Stream, Distribution Engineering: The team consists of 8 members who are responsible for deploying encoding and distribution solutions in the cloud and on premises. The intern will assist team members with automating configuration of our workflows, helping to write portions of our teraform/cloudformation templates and functions in python. 

• Software Engineering, Engineering Experience: The Engineering Experience team at NBCU is defining and building a paved road of tools and systems to accelerate and optimize our software development practices. As a member of the source and continuous integration (CI) team, you will design and implement new source control automation, CI systems, and artifact management solutions. You will create documentation, and work to constantly improve the way we build and deploy software systems. As part of the larger Engineering Experience team, you will be a part of building world class systems to improve development workflows and productivity and help us create world class tools and experiences.  

• Cyber Security Engineering: The SAE Core Cloud engineering team designs, develops, and deploys applications and services to support the Cyber Security department. An Intern will help build out one such service or application and get an opportunity to work directly with a Senior engineer on the team. Additionally, support python development, AWS fundamentals, REST API Design, and technical writing.
