What You’ll Do

Student Counseling / Advising

  • Supports 11th and 12th-grade students in developing and implementing postsecondary plans for workforce, technical education, military, college, and university pathways.
  • Helps students create individualized postsecondary plans based on data and family preferences.
  • Assists students in setting goals, developing leadership skills, and exploring career paths using ICAP and similar platforms.
  • Collaborates with advisors and teachers to implement postsecondary curriculum focused on durable skills in whole-class and small-group settings.

College Pathway Support

  • Educates students, families, and staff on college admissions and enrollment for in-state four-year, selective four-year, and two-year programs.
  • Counsels students on selecting reach, match, and safety schools.
  • Develops programming tailored to students’ varying college readiness levels.
  • Supports students in preparing application materials, including transcripts, score reports, personal statements, and supplemental documents.
  • Assists teachers and advisors in writing recommendations for applicable schools.
  • Guides students through post-admission steps, including forms, fees, housing, and enrollment.
  • Educates students and families on the financial aid process and tracks FAFSA/CASFA completion.
  • Ensures students submit FAFSA/CASFA and accept financial aid packages on time.
  • Builds relationships with in-state and out-of-state college admissions officers.

Industry and Workforce Pathway Support

  • Connects students with on-the-job training, internships, apprenticeships, and employment opportunities.
  • Supports 11th and 12th-grade students in meeting employment prerequisites, including testing, skills training, resumes, cover letters, job applications, and PPBEA account setup.
  • Builds and maintains relationships with hiring managers and military recruiters.

Other Administrative Responsibilities 

  • Maintains accurate electronic and hard copy records.
  • Prepares reports and delivers presentations on program assessments and updates.
  • Attends training sessions and staff meetings for professional development.
  • Drives Atlas vans for extracurricular, postsecondary, and workforce trips.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Compensation & Schedule 

  • Salaried/Exempt
  • Signing Bonus: $1,000
  • Annual Salary Range $55,358 - $65,018
  • Full Time; Monday – Friday; Occasional evenings and weekends as needed

Annual Calendar and Start Date

  • 212 work days per academic year
    • This includes 3 days of new staff orientation. Following years will include 209 workdays.
