Tenure faculty (regardless of rank) - persons with the titles of professor, associate professor, assistant professor and instructor who serve on appointments totaling 50% or more service to the university and who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. Duties and responsibilities are assigned in accordance with the workload guidelines laid out in the pattern of administration of each faculty member’s tenure initiation unit (TIU) and, as appropriate, regional campus; obligations will include research, service and/or teaching or clinical practice.  These faculty will have earned doctorate or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study or possession of equivalent experience.

Expanding Tenure Track Primary Care Research Faculty

The Ohio State University College of Medicine is seeking full-time, open-rank tenure track position applicants for PhD Researchers to join the Department of Family and Community Medicine (DFCM) and our community of research faculty members as we continue to expand our team!

Recognized for providing excellent clinical care, developing and expanding nationally recognized and extramurally funded research programs, and building strategic research collaborations inside and outside the institution, our aim is to develop a leading primary care research program. Tenure track faculty will dedicate the majority of their time to research, but also to make significant contributions to the education mission of the Department. Applicants with expertise in community-engaged research, implementation science, mixed methods, health equity, primary care research, and health services research are encouraged to apply. The Department conducts innovative, high-impact, health outcomes and health services research in areas such as: dissemination and implementation of preventive services; alcohol and substance use disorders; maternal/ child health; clinical health information technology; telehealth; primary care redesign; health disparities and equity; and clinical communication in complex disease.

DFCM operates 10 clinical practices, including a designated federally-qualified health center, with over 60 faculty and 28 residents. The DFCM is an exceptional department in an exceptional environment. It fully integrates foundational and clinical science to prepare students to practice personalized medicine. Our department faculty members continue to advance knowledge of best practices in primary care through nationally-funded efforts, such as the development of the Ohio Primary Care Innovation Network.
