Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Information Systems Project Manager – Network Team Lead (26-059) to join our talented and diverse team. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.

This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program is a key component of the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, the secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan ballistic missile defense operations, monitor the battle, and dynamically control networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve global and regional mission goals. C2BMC supports layered missile defense capabilities that enable an optimized response to threats across all ranges and flight phases. It serves as a force multiplier by networking, integrating, and synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations globally and regionally to improve performance. C2BMC is essential for all ground and flight tests that verify and demonstrate the current and future capabilities of missile defense systems.

In this role, the candidate will serve as a Network Team Lead, overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of engineering activities to develop technical capabilities within the C2BMC Network Enterprise. They will collaborate within an agile team, planning work according to customer needs and contractual obligations.

Essential Functions:

  • Applies extensive expertise to solve complex problems that require regular ingenuity and creativity
  • Work is performed with minimal direction and is reviewed for desired results from a long-term perspective
  • Will serve in project leadership roles and represent the organization as the prime customer contact for significant technical matters related to contracts
  • This position is accountable for the overall engineering, technical, cost, and schedule performance of the capability
  • The candidate is expected to maintain clear, open communication with program and engineering management regarding status, staffing needs, and engineering projects
  • The candidate will drive the use of best practices within the engineering team using Agile processes, tools, and frameworks, and will review capability artifacts and development practices for compliance with engineering principles, company and program standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
  • Provide input to standard metrics packages used for program execution status, technical improvement, and management/customer status updates
  • Manage risk mitigation activities, schedule planning, and change requests associated with the capabilities
  • Manage the execution of assigned ECP effort(s) added to the capability
  • Coordinate and resolve multiple spiral and capability resource deconfliction across the Agile Release Train (ART) and with other program ARTs
  • Lead Agile and other planning activities to ensure priority and maturity are achieved
  • Maintain the Hive structure for the team and keep it up to date daily
  • Strong Interpersonal, Presentation, Communication, and Facilitation Skills
  • Experience managing and reporting cost, schedule, and technical development on a large program exhibiting the ability to coordinate planning, execution, integration, and completion of projects within your area of assigned responsibility
  • Experience in planning, conducting, and coordinating activities such as documentation dev
