About the role

ICON is looking for a Senior Program Manager I, Construction Innovation, to join our Construction team. This role is based at our Austin, TX HQ campus and reports to the Vice President, Construction. In this role, you will lead strategic initiatives designed to enhance the scalability, delivery speed, and overall quality of ICON’s construction. Key initiatives include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Completing the build-out of ICON’s cost catalog by documenting verified unit pricing for 250+ baseline tasks or materials in Procore.    
  • Working collaboratively with ICON’s Home and Preconstruction Teams to identify the basket of products needed to establish a 4 finish-level framework of approved materials.  
  • Document all approved materials with unit pricing in a Procore cost catalog while creating a mirrored client-facing version of the catalog in Programa.   
  • Developing and deploying the kitting, delivery, and installation program to improve HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical system installation in all ICON buildings.   
  • Working cross functionally to design and develop the ICON MEP Pod which allows for pre-assembly of all major home utility infrastructure.   
  • Coordinating all aspects of incorporating Cold-Formed Steel components into the overall ICON construction program.   
  • Coordinating the data-backed rollout of ICON self-performed trade tasks as it makes operational and economic sense.   

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Program Management: Develop and implement program initiatives to improve the delivery speed and quality of construction projects, focusing on cold formed steel components, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. 
  • Define Requirements: Outline program requirements and outcomes for construction innovation initiatives. 
  • Third-Party Coordination: Identify third-party supply and labor resources that support initiative goals.  Coordinate with them to source MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) kits and enable their timely installation into ICON structures.   
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the ICON Architecture and Building Science Team to ensure seamless integration of new methods and technologies into building information models. 
  • Project Management: Oversee the development, implementation, and management of construction innovation projects, ensuring they meet timelines, budgets, and quality standards. 
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and effective communication with all stakeholders, including internal teams and external partners. 
  • Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and seek to improve ICON’s construction methods and processes. 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • 8+ years of professional experience in the construction or architecture field, with a strong focus on integrating technology into the construction process. 
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. 
  • Proficiency in building-related technology, including BIM (Building Information Modeling) software, project management tools, and other relevant technologies. 
  • Proven experience in managing complex projects from inception to completion. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and external partners. 
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges. 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Passion for innovation and continuous improvement in construction methods and processes.
