Compensation: $21.95 DOE + DOQ + $2 graveyard differential (12:00am - 8:00am)Shift: 6pm-6am Sunday - Tuesday, 6pm-12am Wednesday

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have valid Oregon Drivers license; Must have been a licensed driver for at least 2 years; Must have a driving record that permits coverage under C@P’s company insurance.
  • The ability to pass all background check requirements set by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years of social services experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred but not required. 
  • Valid basic, unarmed Oregon Security licensing. (DPSST Unarmed License)
  • Knowledge of and experience in using trauma-informed care principles required. 
  • Demonstrated experience in mediation between persons exhibiting escalated behavior required.

Essential Job Duties (but not limited to):

  • Provide a calm, decisive presence on all Church at the Park properties and properties that C@P is contracted to provide safety and security services for.
  • Ensure safety of staff and residents by covering open shelter staff shifts when needed, in order to maintain the required number of staff per shift.
  • Monitor activity on all properties for safety & security issues.
  • Work with site staff to address all safety & security concerns.
  • Address or escalate guest safety & security concerns. 
  • Be the first point of contact for emergency responders.
  • Develop professional and meaningful relationships with site guests and staff. 
  • Ensure guests are complying with rules of the site.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork that is assigned.
  • Write and submit an incident report when required to.
  • Review and answer questions from guests about the participant agreement.
  • Responsible for reading all updates in Homebase and pass-down log.
  • Communicate all site relevant information in homebase.
  • Ensure all incidents and pertinent information is communicated through the proper notification process   Keep and post a shift passdown / shift log on Hombase and silvertrac.
  • Respond to guest grievances and concerns.
  • Use trauma-informed care and Non violent communication principles whenever possible when interacting with staff and residents.
  • Assist other staff and volunteers in providing a calm and safe environment for guests. This may include checking restroom activity or monitoring door and/or parking lot activity, or handing out supplies.
  • Carry out CAP protocols and emergency procedures in the event of an incident.
  • May be asked to support the transportation team with staff and guest transportation.  May be asked to assist with the transportation of staff and guests in inclement weather.  
  • Driving a C@P vehicle from site to site or other destinations throughout the shift as needed.
  • Attend required training and learn policies and procedures for shelter operations.
  • Oversee the inventory of site supplies with the maintenance of a supply form.
  • Mentor staff & volunteers when necessary.
  • Arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
  • While working as a safety team member, wear the appropriate safety team gear to be easily identifiable.
  • Check organization email, Homebase, and ADP for direct messages, news, updates, and general information.
Work environment:Indoor/Outdoor work environment with frequent interruptions and demands, and occasional unpredictable behavior. Going up and down stairs multiple times a shift. Standing / walking the majority of shift. Must be able to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds or less.
Transportation Policy:
To receive and maintain authorization to drive a Non Profit vehicle, a driver must:
