JOB DESCRIPTION:
Position Summary:
This position is responsible to serve as a key member of the Bendix finance and controlling team. The person is responsible for developing plant financial analysis capabilities, internal controls and compliance supporting the Plant Controller and Operations Group Controller.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for driving understanding in monthly, quarterly and annual results from plant operations
- Drive alignment between FP&A, business units and plants to better understand budget variances in order to support aligned global management reporting
- Help coordinate the annual plant budgeting process and long-range planning
- Lead the plants capital spending process including monthly actuals, outlook and annual budgeting process
- Develop, enhance, and maintain plant and ad-hoc reports to satisfy internal and external reporting requirements including business case development and senior management requests
- Lead improvement efforts around plant and operational internal control initiatives, compliance requirements and audit support
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and IFRS preferred
- Knowledge of in-depth financial planning in various systems
- Knowledge of audit and internal control mechanisms and procedures
Experience:
- 5-10 years of experience in accounting/ finance for in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in financial management, including managing budgets, preparing monthly forecasts and performing variance analysis at month end
- Experience with month-end accounting close process
- ERP experience required (SAP preferred)
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to lead and work within a cross-functional team environment
- Possesses strong analytical, planning and organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft office products and other software packages including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Strong systems and data management skills required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Business-related field required
- Accounting preferred
- MBA/ CPA preferred
- Green Belt certification a plus
