ABOUT THE JOB
The Enviornmental Health and Safety Coordinator will work with the EHS Manager and the site team to develop and improve the site Environmental, Health, and Safety programs and activities to maximize safety for all plant employees. The EHS Coordinator will be active and engaged with all personnel working in manufacturing to help ensure safety and environmental compliance through administration of the facility standards.

Qualifications
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Education/Certification:
- Considering candidates with an Associates/Bachelor’s degree in an EHS discipline from an accredited college or university or 3 to 5 years of relevant EHS work experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):
- PC word processing/spreadsheet software (J)
- Safety concepts and techniques (J)
- Material handling methods for reusing/reducing/recycling waste (J)
- Training and employee development (J)
- Labor laws OSHA/EPA/USDA/FDA and other state and federal regulatory agencies (B)
- Workers’ compensation (B)
- First Aid/CPR (B)
Skill and ability to:
- Good communicator/listener
- Must be detail oriented with good organizational and planning skills
- Established peer and managerial credibility, ability to lead safety by example
- Interact effectively with employees at all organizational levels
- Motivate employees in a team-based environment
- Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal and external customers verbally and in writing
- Maintain confidentiality
- Interpret EHS problems or anomalies and identify appropriate solutions
