The Senior Firmware Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and debugging embedded software programs for laboratory medical research devices.

This position reports to the Manager of Software Engineering and is part of the R&D Software team located in Loveland, Colorado and will be an on-site role.  

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:

• Prototype, design, code, unit test, and maintain embedded software programs

• Collaborating with the electrical and hardware teams to select and integrate components and systems on embedded boards and establishing protocols and interfaces to integrate the embedded software with other programs and products

• Learn, maintain and improve upon existing embedded software designs

• Participate in code reviews and adhering to standards and procedures

• Lead management of risks and resources on small projects

The essential requirements for the job include:

• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field

• 5 or more years of experience developing embedded software in C / C++

• In-depth experience with low-level devices, device interfaces and the tools to develop with and debug them

• In-depth knowledge of embedded software testing strategies

• Experience as a mentor for less-experienced team members

It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:

• Embedded operating systems and configuration mechanisms (FreeRTOS, Yocto, embedded Linux…)

• Desktop / Applications software development (.NET, C#, C++, Python)

The salary range for this role is $90,000 – $130,000. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. #L1-WT1
