The Toledo Clinic's Rheumatology department, Arthritis Associates, is seeking a full-time Telephone Receptionist. This position will manage a high volume of incoming calls and handle various clerical tasks in a busy medical practice.
This position will work Mon/Tues/Thurs (8:00-4:30), Wed (8:00-3:30), & Fri (8:00-12:00).
The office is located on Woodley Rd in Toledo. Previous experience in a medical office or medical call center is preferred.
General Summary
Works as a telephone receptionist managing a high volume of calls and handling various clerical tasks in a busy medical office.
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
- Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
- Scheduling appointments, lab tests, surgeries, etc.
- Verifying referrals and/or pre-certifications.
- Updating insurance information.
- Answering general patient questions.
- Taking messages accurately and relaying to appropriate personnel.
Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To
- Collecting co-pays.
- Preparing and/or submitting charge tickets.
- Sorting, filing and scanning patient charts.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required:
- Consistently arrives at work in appropriate/professional attire.
- Completes all tasks within established time frame.
- Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
- Excellent communication, phone, and organizational skills.
- Computer skills helpful.
- Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
- Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Education:
- HS diploma or GED.
Preferred:
- Previous clerical experience in a medical office or medical call center preferred.
