Job Summary:
The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal operation and maintenance of industrial machinery, electrical systems, and mechanical equipment. This role requires expertise in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining both electrical and mechanical components, including 3-phase systems, VFDs, CNC machines, and more. The technician is tasked with performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing malfunctions, and ensuring safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance on engines, motors, conveyor systems, pneumatic tools, production machines, and building equipment using diagrams, sketches, and manufacturer instructions.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including 3-phase, 1000V, wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and electronic components.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical malfunctions using precision measuring tools, voltmeters, insulation testers, and other test equipment.
- Replace and repair mechanical components such as belts, bearings, seals, and electrical parts, including fuses, switches, and regulators.
- Install, test, and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment, including CNC machines, induction heaters, switchgear, and control circuits.
- Fabricate repair parts using welding equipment and ensure proper installation of components.
- Program, install, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
- Inspect equipment regularly to locate potential issues and address them proactively to prevent breakdowns.
- Maintain technical knowledge through continuous learning, attending workshops, and reviewing technical publications.
- Document and communicate maintenance actions, irregularities, and ongoing needs to ensure seamless operations.
- Adhere to safety regulations, including wearing required PPE and ensuring a clean, organized work environment.
- Coordinate with vendors for specialized equipment troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
- Provide guidance for equipment modifications, future projects, and system upgrades.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and minimize downtime through efficient repair efforts.
- Maintain detailed records of scheduled and completed maintenance tasks.
- Operate computers and software to monitor and control mechanical and electrical systems.
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or GED; Electrician Apprentice, Journeyman License, or equivalent certification preferred.
