What we want
The Psychologist & Senior Psychologist, with administrative supervision, is responsible for providing mental health counseling and outreach that is responsive to the unique backgrounds and needs of individuals, couples, and groups. Within this role, the employee will offer training seminars and provide professional expertise to campus partners as well as provide supervision and/or assist in the coordination of counseling services, programs, and the development of new programs. This role supports the mission of University Health Services by fostering the mental well-being and the holistic development of Texas A&M Students.

Required Education & Experience
Psychologist
- Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP)
- Successful completion of relevant practicum and doctoral internship training.
Senior Psychologist
- Doctorate in Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or other degree acceptable to the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists (TSBEP).
- Five years full-time equivalent, independent licensure experience in college or university counseling center or other relevant setting.
Required Licenses and Certifications
Psychologist
Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist within one year from date of employment.
Once licensed, must maintain licensure for continued employment.
Senior Psychologist
Licensed Psychologist (LP).
Licensed in the State of Texas as a psychologist within one year from date of employment.
Must maintain licensure for continued employment.
Responsibilities:
Provides mental health counseling as well as crisis intervention to individuals, couples, and groups.
Assesses clients, creates treatment plans, and provides clinical services and referrals.
Provides psychological assessment services including administering and interpreting psychological tests/inventories.
Engages in case management and referrals.
Delivers mental health related outreach, presentations and workshops to students, faculty, and staff.
Provides adjunct supervision of psychology and counseling practicum students.
Provides consultation to faculty, staff, students, and families regarding student mental health and well-being.
May provide supervision for trainees and/or clinicians who are not independently licensed, including review of documentation and case review.
At times of high student need, flexes schedule to provide additional clinical services including appointments, outreach, and crisis services as needed.
