In this role, you’ll serve as the Principal HRIS Analyst - PeopleSoft. As the Human Capital Management (HCM expert)—you will help shape how critical HR processes run across the organization. You’ll demonstrate your ability to translate business needs into smart system solutions, enhance functionality through thoughtful analysis, and develop reporting that drives confident decision-making. You'll partner with both HR and IT, you’ll help strengthen data integrity, streamline operations, and guide meaningful system improvements that support a mission-driven organization. 

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Blend deep functional knowledge with technical expertise of PeopleSoft HCM applications such as Workforce Management, Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, Position Management, and/or Classification and Compensation. 

  • Act as the primary PeopleSoft subject matter expert to ensure our system supports accurate data, reliable reporting, and well-structured HR processes. 

  • Develop standard and ad hoc reports to support HR, IT, Payroll, and operational decision-making. 

  • Work closely with IT developers and HR stakeholders to translate business needs into clear system requirements, conduct fit/gap analyses, and prepare documentation that supports system enhancements, updates, and issue resolution.  

  • Analyze current processes to identify opportunities for improved functionality to support operations. 

  • Prepare detailed specifications that guide technical builds or configuration updates. 

  • Prepare PeopleSoft yearly open enrollment. This position involves configuring, managing, and executing the annual benefits selection process within PeopleSoft HCM, with a strong focus on ensuring data accuracy, adherence to eligibility rules, and precise cost calculations

  • A detail-oriented analyst skilled in maintaining data integrity across complex systems. 

  • An effective communicator who can collaborate with teams and leadership to articulate system behavior and business impacts. 

  • A collaborative expert who can work effectively with IT and HR partners to translate business needs into clear, actionable system requirements. 

  • Experience in gathering and documenting business requirements for systems enhancements, performing fit/gap analysis, and writing functional/technical specifications based on requirements.   

  • Troubleshooting experience

Schedule: 9/80 Monday through Friday /Every other Friday off. Monday through Thursday 9 hours per day, 8 hours per day every other Friday. Start times are no earlier than 6 am and end times are no later than 6 pm. 

 

Hybrid: Metropolitan’s current practice in this position is a hybrid work schedule. This typically includes two days a week in person and the other days remote. This is subject to change dependent on organizational needs. In addition, a telework policy is scheduled for negotiations and once completed and implemented, will provide final direction on the hybrid schedule. 

 

  

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

 

Education and Experience:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, and eight years of relevant experience.
