Motor Carrier - Safety and Compliance Program Manager

What you'll do...
- Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and local Department of Transportation regulations by staying current on new and pending regulations, providing communications and support to DTX Fleet management teams.
- Collaborate with DTX Safety & Operations Manager to develop and update Driver safety policies and Fleet Operations’ best practices.
- Develop, plan, and conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential areas of risk in compliance and Federal regulations.
- Maintain full compliance with FMCSA, DOT, and state regulations.
- Oversee Driver Qualification Files (DQF) management and auditing.
- Administer random drug and alcohol testing programs.
- Manage IRP, IFTA, HUT, 2290, MCS-150, SCAC, KYU, and insurance documentation.
- Monitor and implement new FMCSA regulations.
- Document and report incidents per FMCSA standards.
- Lead safety committee programs and driver training initiatives across multiple locations.
- Analyze trends and facilitate incident review calls to reduce Hit Stationary and Sideswipe incidents.
- Provide training, lead meetings and present pathways to success for fleet teams to meet safety and compliance guidelines/requirements.
What you'll need...
- A degree with an emphasis in Business, Supply Chain, Transportation/Logistics, or related field of study
- Five (5) years of experience working in the trucking industry.
- In-depth knowledge of DOT and FMCSA compliance requirements and safety regulations.
- Knowledge and experience in maintaining motor carrier compliance regulations.
- Leadership experience with proven ability to make sound compliance decisions.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis to recommend corrective actions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Electronic Logging Device experience
- Organizational skills including the ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with EHS, Legal, and HR processes for cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred:
- CDL-A license holder with commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driving experience.
- Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician (OHST)
- Certification in one or more of the following:
- Certified Transportation Professional (CTP).
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP).
- Experience working in private fleet.
- Supervisory experience
