Position: Staff Engineer, Product Engineering (Prod Dev) (Durham, North Carolina)
Duties: Design, simulate, and measure printed circuit boards to support qualification of Radio Frequency (RF) Transceiver products. Organize, lead, and participate in Printed Circuit Board (PCB) hardware design reviews. Interface with PCB vendors and contract manufacturers to ensure PCB quality and schedule is met, including sourcing of required components. Collaborate with a team of engineers from the initial design stage all the way through to the product release stage, including debugging and analyzing failures using failure analysis techniques, and bench equipment. Perform RF measurement using bench test equipment including oscilloscopes, function generator, digital multimeter, vector network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. Perform automated rack-based characterization system development and lab data collection. Create datasheet specification tables, typical performance characteristic graphs using characterization data and collaborate with Design, Application and Software engineers to produce internal and customer specific data. Perform RF and microwave Data Processing of lab results, generate plots, and present the data reports. Perform system development emulations and verification from product definition through production and release. Plan and run multi-site meetings and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements: Master's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Product Engineer or related occupation developing and testing electronic devices. Specific skills/other requirements - Must also possess three (3) years of experience in each of the following skills: Demonstrated experience (“DE”) developing and maintaining LabVIEW GUIs for programming and controlling ICs, and debug of signal processing algorithms, firmware, and API; DE developing and maintaining TestStand based highly automated test suite and optimizing and revising test bench for performance evaluation and characterization of ICs; DE developing schematic and electromagnetic simulations of Printed Circuit Board (“PCB”) to meet design targets utilizing ADS, EMPro and HFSS simulation tools; S-Parameters including matching networks and cascade analysis; electromagnetic circuit analysis; and gain, noise figure, and linearity analysis; DE designing, testing and measuring Radio Frequency (“RF”) transmitters, receivers, up/down converters, and amplifiers using oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers and network analyzers and performing statistical data analysis to evaluate product performance, conducting semiconductor product releases, providing and formatting data plots and tables to the datasheets, tracking product development and fixing bugs in Agile methodology by utilizing Jira, Confluence, and MS Office.

Salary: $125,486.00 - $179,645.00/year
