What you get to do in this role: 

• Design and deliver outstanding experience for our customers in your Product Area:
  • Software development of the App Engine Management Center AEMC
• Development responsibilities are primarily front-end related with some limited back-end work with the ServiceNow Platform (JavaScript, NextExperience/Seismic, Now Platform)
• Collaborate with product on the roadmaps, synthesize designs/architectures, specifications, spikes, POCs, etc.
• Build high-quality, clean, scalable, performant, and reusable code by enforcing best practices around software engineering architecture and processes (Code Reviews, Unit testing, etc.)
• Active and critical participant in all Agile ceremonies (stand-ups, grooming, retros, demos, etc.)
• Identify, champion, and deploy pro-active solutions for increasing service ownership regarding App Engine usage and functional health
• Influence and innovate in your product area: explore and evaluate new technologies to improve features, architecture, and frameworks as appropriate.
• Mentoring and modeling of technical leadership for more junior engineers
• Learn, educate, influence cross-functional partners (Product, Design, QE, etc.)
• Occasional customer meetings discussing new features, feedback, and issues (lead by Product Management)

To be successful in this role you have:

• Passion for JavaScript and the Web as a platform, reusability, and componentization
• Advanced knowledge with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, design patterns, and performance/scale considerations
• Advanced knowledge experience working with relational databases including development, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
• Experience with multiple technology stacks: Cloud Dev, Platforms, Web Dev, Frameworks, or service–oriented architecture
• Capability to manage multiple projects with material technical risk across teams and processes; may serve as a functional lead or technical owner.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with Java or a similar OO language
• Experience with any of the modern UI frameworks like Angular, React or Vue
