About the Role

As the Head of Lean Management, you will play a crucial role in transforming the organization into a lean and agile enterprise. Your expertise in lean methodologies and your ability to lead change will contribute to the overall success of the organization and its continuous improvement journey.

As the Head of Lean Management, you will be responsible for leading and driving the implementation of lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization with a focus on people and overhead. Your primary goal will be to optimize processes, eliminate waste, and improve operational efficiency to enhance overall productivity and profitability. You will provide strategic direction, develop lean strategies, and oversee the execution of lean projects across various departments starting with the people organization. We are looking for someone who is passionate about seeking new opportunities to create impactful work.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Lean Management strategies:
    • Define the organization's lean vision, goals, and objectives.
    • Create a comprehensive lean management framework and roadmap.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress and success.
  • Drive Lean culture and continuous improvement:
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and lean thinking.
    • Provide guidance and training to managers and employees on lean principles.
    • Promote and support employee involvement in lean initiatives.
  •  Lead lean projects and initiatives:
    • Identify and prioritize areas for improvement across different functions and processes.
    • Plan, coordinate, and execute lean projects to achieve targeted outcomes.
    • Apply lean tools and methodologies, such as value stream mapping, 5S, Kaizen, and DMAIC, to drive improvements.
  • Monitor and analyze performance:
    • Develop and implement metrics and systems to monitor process performance.
    • Conduct data analysis to identify process bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
    • Track and report on key performance indicators to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
    • Work closely with department heads and teams to align lean initiatives with business objectives.
    • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure the successful implementation of lean projects.
    • Provide guidance and support to teams during the lean transformation process.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship:
    • Build and lead a high-performing lean management team.
    • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to team members.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, learning, and innovation.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices:
    • Stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in lean management.
    • Attend conferences, workshops, and seminars to enhance knowledge and skills.
    • Identify and recommend new tools and techniques to improve lean practices.

About You

The essentials:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, operations management, or a related field
  • Proven experience in leading lean management initiatives and implementing lean methodologies in a complex organizational setting
  • Strong knowledge of lean principles, tools, and techniques
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving significant process improvements and cost savings through lean initiatives
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve process inefficiencies
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Project management experience and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experience in change management and the ability to influence and motivate others
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with cross-functional teams

Not a must, but a plus:

  • A Master's degree
  • Lean Six Sigma certification is highly desirable
