Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Hospital Laboratory Technician 1 in the Histology Lab, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of lab operations. Your primary job duties will include staining H&E and Special stains, tracking slides for distribution, and managing the Histology help desk to respond to customer needs. Additional responsibilities encompass changing reagents in tissue processors and stainers, maintaining quality control log sheets, filing specimen blocks and slides, and cleaning and organizing the laboratory.

Salary Range: $26.39/hour – $34.86/hour

• High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED or HiSET).

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly to answer telephones and communicate with departmental and hospital personnel.

• Highly flexible with the capability to work alternative shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on operational needs.
